I would say that the announcements of extraterrestrial life does not surprise me. We live in a world full of paradoxes, where the unknown is a shadow that always follows us. Extraterrestrial life—this "other" existence—may be nothing more than our reflection, a projection of our fears, our alienation from truth, and the essence of existence. What is the extraterrestrial, after all? Perhaps it is our very selves when we confront the unknown within us.
In such announcements, I see not only a scientific revelation but also our unease and fear before the inexplicable. Maybe our need to discover extraterrestrial life is a desperate attempt to escape our everyday reality—a world where injustice, poverty, and social decay form the true dystopia. Ultimately, the question is not whether life exists beyond our planet, but whether true life exists within us.
If extraterrestrials do exist, perhaps they are already observing us and wondering what truly makes us human. And if they do not? Then it is up to us to find meaning in our own journey—on this planet, in our relationships, and through our actions.
