I use coin os. NWC as outgoing, which works wonderful Lightning address as incoming as seen in the screenshot above
There are many stackers who can explain this better than me, but it is starting to look like CoinOS is perhaps not a great solution. I don't know if it's because the wallet wasn't built for the volume of tiny transactions SN is throwing at it or what. I think stackers are going to have to either find an alternative custodial wallet, or start running their own small node with a channel open to SN.

start running their own small node with a channel open to SN.
This is the way. With Alby it is actually very easy and the zaps are quite reliable.
reply
Do you still have that coinOS channel open? I opened one last night and so far I have a similar experience as you. Two routing transactions with SN, both before rewards payout time. One for around 240k and the other around 20k. I'll keep it open a while and see what happens.
reply
Yes, it's still open. But the capacity to coinos got exhausted quickly, not just by SN. I ended up routing only about 90k sats from SN to coinos, and the rest was from other sources until the channel got exhausted.
I rebalanced the channel but paid about as many fees rebalancing as I made from routing. I then upped my fee rate and so far haven't routed anything at the higher fee rate.

Same here

That would be crazy. Is SN such a big chunk out of the whole Lightning Network that a popular custodial service gets too much load from SN alone? That would be crazy.
Maybe Stackers that aren't ready for their own nodes could at least diversify over more custodial services? Are there any more?
reply
Either way, your idea of diversifying over more custodial services would be useful. Maybe some will perform better than others.
reply
So you're not aware of any other custodial services that offer NWC+wallet connect and ln-address either?

None that are:
  1. free
  2. kyc-free
  3. available in the US
afaik at least
reply
No, but maybe someone else does.

Apart from what I already told you about coinos, I will add something else. All the communication of a coinos with SN account is through NWC. We know that. OK good, NWC works with nostr relays. These nostr relays sometimes can have a lot of activity and could limit the whole number of items passing through, depending on how they are configured.
Also they can limit the access to specific IPs... I had a stupid issue with Rizful node testing. I contacted the admin and he told me they had some limiting access to some IPs so I changed my NWC access to another IP and all worked flawlessly (I was zaping on nostr from a restricted IP and Rizful relay couldn't fw the payment).
btw... primal is restricting heavily to connect to many relays other then theirs... so all your zaps could fail.
So yes shit like this can happen and IS NOT SN fault !

Please Darth stop ruining the magic. Let's just pretend things just work until they don't 🗿 Also, realistically you would need a ton of spam to trigger rate limit with nwc.

Great to know more about the detail. As a complete technical moron I appreciate all the knowledge and insights I can get!

In your specific case I think is nothing wrong with your setup.
And k00b already explain it to you: you receive sats AND CCs depends on how others are sending to you. For example, from me you will get ONLY CCs, because I do not have attached ANY wallet to my SN account. Not for withdraw not for sending.
I am a cowboy credits maxi :) and is nothing wrong with that.
reply
Holy crap, a CC maxi?

I was so looking forward not to bother with setting up my own node.

PLEASE don't say that. I don't want to see @DarthCoin gloating again. It's really not hard. There are simple solutions. If I can do it, anyone can. You'll learn more about bitcoin in the process.

You'll learn more about bitcoin in the process.
THIS is the most important aspect!

XD you are right! I need a rock to hide under so @DarthCoin can't find me.

hahaha I don't have to find you... you reveal yourself. I saved this post anyways for the history of the most blowing mind madness on SN.

Haha, perfect
