I am interested in what Africans think about bitcoin. I made sure to send this to a Ghanian friend who is doing work in Ghana and also has a podcast. I love the perspective. I agree with what Femi had to say. Bitcoin is not a religion. It is a liberating, monetary, technology, and Africans have the opportunity to lead the way on making it a peer to peer solution like Satoshi originally intended!
Yeah I’ve heard Femi before. I have an IT co worker who went back to Ghana to work for 3 weeks. He has 12 siblings, lots still there. Unfortunately, no bitcoiners. I’m working on him though ;-)
As I always publish in my writings of SN, BTC should be and is more than digital money through a blockchain, is the present and future of digital assets, is a financial alternative that could raise many companies and projects could implement it to finance schools, hospitals, NGOs among others. not only africa, but the most distant regions, everyone can apply to this ecosystem because everything that today is known as cryptocurrencies was born from the invention and projection of BTC against a society monetized by physical money and sometimes even poorly invested. thanks for sharing. sats for everyone.
Interesting! So much wisdom in his words. Very practical really. When I talk on SN, I too really listen the reality that US or Europe has framed according to their conditions. Definitely the reality for India is much different, so it is for Africa. I'll listen it many more times to form a context or Bitcoin reality for India.

I like his idea that it can be the settlement layer. People don’t necessarily have to know they are using bitcoin.
