I've been mostly carnivore (animal-based diet, lots of beef, also poultry, pork, eggs, dairy, seafood) for about a year now. And I have to reply here, because I feel like I behaved similarly.
I easily got into a lazy mode, where I just didn't feel like doing anything except the easiest, most brain-rotting activities. Like web surfing or watching videos.
Anyway, that changed about a month into my new carnivore diet. My energy level rebounded tremendously. Instead of walking around the house, dragging my feet, I zipped around.
I noticed increased energy in everything. Even with simple tasks like putting away the clean dishes in the dishwasher - over the course of a couple months I really noticed that I had gotten a lot faster and more efficient.
I wasn't depressed before, but I became more outgoing, less anxious, and more positive.
And I've heard this exact same story over and over again in podcasts, from people who went carnivore.
Anyway, I thought I'd throw this idea out there. I wish I had found out about carnivore sooner. An animal-based diet can change your life for the better.
Some good resources to look up are Dr Anthyony Chaffee, Dr Shawn Baker, and Dr Ken Berry. Great podcasts and videos.
Oh thank you so much for this information. I have been saying for a long time that I want to put together weekly menus so I have a plan for what to cook each day and what food to buy for each week, but I procrastinate and haven't done it. My daughter's pediatrician also recommended that she eat more protein and vegetables, and I should do the same. Before your carnivore diet, what did you usually eat?

I actually ate what normal people would call a very healthy diet. Limited meat, lots and lots of fruit and veggies, almost only whole grains. Tried to limit saturated fats. No junk food (soda, chips, ice cream, etc) except for what I made myself (which was my own cookies, etc).
At home I actually had a wheat grinder, and ground my own wheat as well, and made my own bread. I was really into whole grains. Not vegetarian, but I definitely followed the whole "use meat as a condiment" mindset. I didn't have a weight problem.
I do believe that my diet previously was far healthier than the standard American diet. But I had no idea that I could feel so much better eating carnivore. I wish I had known this much sooner, it feels like I wasted decades with low energy, and non-optimal mood.
