This is the fate of authors writing in small languages. He is really a talented author! 

It's a shame there isn't a translation. I like reading about immigrant experiences in the U.S.

! It is a novel written in Albanian (not translated into English, I guess), titled: The Sinless.

I should have mentioned that "a part of the story took place in New York". The protagonist of the novel studied in New York in the 1970s and then returned to Albania. And the rest of the story takes place in Tirana.
