Yeah, CCs just stacking up.
Shouldn't they be first line of spending? Like, what am I supposed to do with them?
You can pay for anything on SN with CCs.
I created 2 posts today and all my comments are published through CCs.

I posted, commented and zapped plenty today, all taken from my sats balance or connected wallet -- the CC balance just keeps building.
Is there a switch/setting I need to make?

There's no switch setting afaict. But the system should prioritize CCs, as it's said.
It mau be that you're getting more CCs than you're spending.

Don't get confused. They actually deduct once you have them.
My wallet isn't getting debited for comment fee, nor it debited when I created posts today. But my CC balance that I can see where I used to see sats prior to the switch, are being debited.
As I said you're getting more CCs than you're spending.
