I mean honestly I am still confused on what he did and why he did it. Either he got hella played or I mean its an insult to stupid people to call him stupid. There was no way this idea he had was going to succeed not to mention he said there was evidence but never presented any.
Not that the protesters even matter the freaking Army isn't letting them in and have previously blocked investigators from being able to search his office and residence. It seems like the 55th will keep him protected unless higher up command tells them to stand down.

They have power because you give it to them. Soldiers have long before and far into the future will disobey orders for better and for worse and historically we have seen this play out.
