The 31 Million Sats Challenge

@denlillaapan sent me this right at the beginning of 2025. I think about it a lot and had terrible nightmares last night. I cannot get this thought out of my mind.
Here is the quote:
Happy New Year everyone If you believe the concept time is money then you’ll understand sat/second parity. There are 31,536,000 seconds in a year. Therefore, to live the concept time is money, stack at least that many sats this year.
It basically says that my stacking game is way too weak. And as bitcoin goes up in price, it will only get harder in the future.
Even if we break the 31.5 million down into smaller chunks, say to a monthly level, that means we would have to stack almost 2.6 million sats.
2.6 million sats means about ~2,600.00 USD every month. My current stacking rate is around ~250 USD per month.
These numbers scare the hell out of me. Am I too late, can't I stack hard enough, will everyone outpace me?
I am trying to find my peace like @stack_harder is doing (#796090), but man is that hard.
So how are you guys going to pump up your stacking game in 2025 to reach 2,600 UDS per month?

Looking at it from the perspective of this graph, it encourages me to improve my stacking, since it is well below what is suggested in the post. And I want to say that I am not afraid of falling behind, everyone has their own pace and the responsibility of moving towards their expectations!!

I like Bitcoin, but that sounds stressful to try to keep up with. I need to free my mind sometimes.

HOW DO YOU DO IT! Enlighten me with your wisdom and knowledge.

Not everyone could do that, nor does everyone need to do it. How about setting a more realistic goal of a sat per minute, or even a sat per hour? Each sat counts and each one should do what's possible/reasonable for them. Don't you think?
reply
Isn't 1 sat per minute too low? That would be about 525,600 sats per year. Basically ~500 USD per year.

It all depends on your income. Not everybody can save $500 a year. In fact, the huge majority of people in the planet couldn't dream to get near that. My point was that each person your set a goal according their situation, and also that any savings in BTC are worth, no matter how small.

I don't even make 2600 dollars a month, i probably average about 150 USD stacked per month, but at some point you have to accept that stacking hard enough just isn't possible, that being said you can always try and stack a bit more.
it's not easy finding peace and while i do my best, i often find myself playing the 'if only' game when times get tough.
reply
I feel you! I play the 'how can I get more sats' thoughts way to often.

i think my main goal is to try and land at least a few more clients that will allow me to up my dca, not much else we can do i don't think. someone mentioned a fitness app called Workit in my post here #826259
only on apple, but it sounds interesting , I'll give it a whirl when it's on android

This is just a way of looking at another way to stack. You dont have to do it this way, and as the price of each sat increases, this will be unattainable for 99% of the world. Just keep stacking, dont worry about the amount. It will grow with time as long as you have discipline.

Just keep stacking, dont worry about the amount.
I wish that would be so easy in my mind
reply
You have to realize that you are early still, just not as early as you could have been if you had focused on bitcoin earlier. Dont let it bother you.
reply
why the fuck do you equate sats with seconds? go home. you're drunk

This is a cool way to stack! But maybe this may not work for everyone. The main thing would be to stack sats! But this was a good post.
reply
This is a reasonable way to think about how much you need to stack.
It's arbitrary but so is any other statement about how much you need.

I oscillate constantly between I don't have nearly enough bitcoin and i have enough bitcoin because it will be the worlds money one day and even a very small amount in today's terms will be "enough"
the best advice IMO is "Stay humble, stack sats" thanks Odell
Slow and steady wins the race
bring value to the world and save in bitcoin
