The figure shows a circle and four arcs, all having a radius of 1. Find the area of the red diamond-shaped region.

The area in the red should be equal to the area in the white in your figure.
Thus,
Area = 4 - \pi

I feel like this is a problem that can appear on the Pri Sch Leaving Exam Maths paper for my country haha.

Forget about the orange and white regions. Replace them with a single color and mentally remove the big circle line. It should make things easier...
I am always amazed at what Pr School kids are expected to achieve, academically. Singapore will conquer the world!~~
