pull down to refresh

Ok, totally serious here, it seems everything I see is either shit, a scam, dead in the water or some play to earn. there was some fitness app, but the payout was so low that it's not even worth the space on my phone.
fountain is a small payout sure, but I'm going to listen to those pods anyway and why not have the sats.
SN is the best thing I've seen in terms of earning sats, bar none, nothing I have seen even comes close. nostr is good if you are already a known face in the btc world, other than that, the zaps do not flow.
are there any other fun apps or things you have found to earn some sats?
New fitness app, Workit. Several of us have been participating in their challenges and earning decent chunks of change.
It's a commitment device where you and dozens of other stackers stake some sats on completing the challenge. Generally, the challenges are x steps per day for two weeks. At the end, the staked sats are divided up amongst the winners.
I also love prediction markets and Predyx launched a few months ago. You can earn lots of sats there, provided your predictions are accurate.

Where's the money coming from? Are you sure they're not selling your personal data in the background?...
reply
No, to the second question.
To the first question, the money comes from the participants, as I described.
reply
i think i remember seeing stackers talk about that here, how much is the stake ?
reply
It differs by contest. The past couple I've done have been 20k. The first couple were less and there are some cheaper ones still.
The payouts have been really good, though. Anywhere from 25-50% of participants have dropped out each time. I think @grayruby and I have each made over 50k on a challenge.
reply
so basically just don't drop out and get the job done? I'm good at being consistent , but how many steps we talking per day, 10k or more?
reply
10k is the highest I've seen so far. The one I'm in right now is only 7.5k.
reply
Yeah, like Undisciplined says, I'm looking forward to trying WorkIt (apparently not on android until next year), but otherwise I'm with you: SN > Fountain > Nostr
reply
i just checked and saw a few things called workit on the play store, must not be it (too bad the name is a bit generic ) I'll have to give it a test
reply
@Undisciplined gave a great explanation of what sets SN apart yesterday:
I guess the SN incentives are way more sophisticated than any of us can grasp.
TLDR: @k00b

reply
I'm not just blowing smoke up your ass (as NY ginzos sometimes say). This was the best explanation I have seen of the special sauce that makes this place great. It should be pinned somewhere.
reply
I would guess that I've spent more time thinking about the SN mechanisms than anyone except for @k00b and @ek.
I really love these kinds of systems and this one is a thing of beauty.
reply
For some reason I expect more bitcoiners to appreciate the primacy of incentives, but it appears to require an economist :)
I'm especially surprised by how few technical bitcoiners appreciate incentives. Judging based on appearances, technical bitcoiners seem to think wire protocols, cryptography, and goodwill are what make bitcoin tick. Even the most naive non-technical bitcoiners are more sophisticated in this regard, eg infinity/21m and PoW.

  1. Microlancer It is a website where you can do small tasks and get paid in sats. The pay varies and is in the range of 50-1000 sats. Sometimes even more if the task is bigger. You can directly transfer it to a lightning wallet. For it me it works pretty smoothly to transfer the earned sats to a Muun wallet.
  2. Nexo You can store your Btc in the nexo bitcoin wallet. And they offer 4% interest on the default basic account.
  3. Yzer is a app to learn concepts about bitcoin and earn sats while doing it. I had fun using it.
reply
I think nothing beats SN but you've got some good suggestions in the thread. Try them and don't forget to tell us your experience with them.

build&sell your own products.
reply
i used to be a full time e-com seller , as well as doing print on demand and i have never generated any interest on any of the various btc marketplaces, most coiners don't want their name and address out there so feel weird when placing an order.
i also provide services for brands on amazon and offer discount in btc, but nobody is interest (i should note though, i am not an aggressive self promotor so part of this is on me)
i see lots of jobs for coders that offer btc payment tho
reply

Indeed, the solution I found is accepting both fiat and sats at the same time. However, you can offer discounts when paying in sats.
reply
my issue is most of my clients come in via upwork so fiat world to the max , i have the discount on my website, but obvs organic traffic is limited.
do you have any good self promo tips for finding btc client overlaps?
reply
There’s always actually earning sats from Bitcoin jobs! Or selling ebooks to @grayruby on @AGORA
reply
Actually been somewhat busy with the holiday season. I promise I will read your book and do a review next week.
reply
What is this "selling books to GrayRuby"?
reply
He bought my first book “The Bitcoin Dog: Following the Scent to the Bitcoin C++ Source Code” off of my website https://realbitcoindog.com/
Paid with Bitcoin!

Do or do not, there is no try

nostr is just me talking into a void lol
reply
You can cross post from SN to Nostr and use both at the same time. But you'll only start earning sats on nostr once you engage with the audience more.
reply
i forget to do this, although for some reason it quite often doesn't work
reply
Maybe its your relays.
Try these.
And wrote some nostr stuff based off of your comments along with a couple of other Stackers/Freaks/Nostritches

WorkIt challenges are pretty fun. You have to contribute sats to join a challenge but as long as you complete it you get more back in return. I have probably earned around 100k sats from WorkIt but I did win a 30k sats bonus payout as part of that. Still worth it if walk alot of steps per day.
reply
i lift weights 5 times a day, but only average about 5k steps. i could quite easily become a maniac though, if the sat motivation was there lol
reply
Only 5k lol
reply
For the USD value I have stacked I would have had to spend ~$840k with a 2% cash back card (was much higher before the recent dip lol)
The rewards used to be so much better (save spin rewards to use on bigger purchases to get huge % back), but although it’s been nerfed I still use for extra 0.5% BTC back on:
  • rent (usually a small fee for debit)
  • quarterly estimated taxes ($2 debit card fee)
  • paying off citi and amex cards via paypal (nets me 4.5% on gas via costco visa, 2.5% on citi double cash catch all card, 4.5% restaurants / groceries via amex gold)
  • I also used it to pay off some $~25k in residual student loans (depending on your servicer) for ~0.032 BTC
reply
i would probably take advantage of something like this if it was available in the EU or UK and just do all my spending on it to earn passive sats
reply
Fold is spyware.
reply
Are they worse than any other credit card?
reply
you pay off your credit cards using paypal?
reply
It ain’t much and takes a little bit of extra effort but it takes a little bit of the sting out of paying credit card bills
reply
PayPal scares me with debanking and operation chokepoint
reply
Paypal is just the payment interface that enables you to pay some bills via debit card- the sats are earned via Fold card and you can take your sats off of Fold so theres zero risk from Paypal here.
There’s been issues in the past where paypal randomly changed some underlying code charges or something where it wasn’t triggering the bonuses but Fold went out of their way to find work arounds (although it eventually went from 1% to 0.5% BTC back) and even added back rewards for prior charges.
reply
Yup! It works for Citi and Amex cards (no BILT, Capital One, and Chase to my knowledge), maybe a few others. You just log into Paypal -> "Pay My Bills". Allows you to pay off your credit cards using Paypal (select debit card / bank etc) which triggers 0.5% Fold bonus (Fold advertises this as a feature on webpage).
Credit card churning is a fun little hobby of mine and this gets me a nice extra 0.5% bonus.
Just doing the math I realized the ~$500 I made back paying off my student loans is now ~$3k

damn
nice job

Heyapollo https://heyapollo.com/ is still legit if you want to contribute reviews of BTC-related products and services

I just started experimenting with the Satoshi App. It’s a new wallet, learning center, and sells bitcoin OTC.
They are trying to gamify the use of lightning where you earn sats based on how much you use lightning. I think the UI is much needed in bitcoin. One thing I like is being able to send bitcoin to usernames or contacts.
It also has a referral program where you can earn sats for life rather than a limited timeframe. Here’s mine if you want to do some experimenting of your own.
Once I use it more, I will post a review about things I like/dislike.
I think this platform will become a dominant player in the US because it has finally brought together several key features.
reply
this sounds quite interesting, but have they got a way to deter gamifying it, ie. people just sending sats to other wallets they control ?
reply
I’m not sure. That sounds like a great experiment. Once I get an enough friends on there, we can run some tests to see if we can game the system.
I have a feeling they can prevent abuse via some sort of centralized control.

THNDR Games used to be good but since they changed the payouts to be like every 1-2 hours (resulting in very small prizes per draw) instead of 24 or whatever it was before, the payouts don't make much sense unless you were going to spend your time on playing random mobile games anyway. There are also a bunch of loyalty / affiliate programs you can advertise to earn some sats. Profitability depends on whether you have some sort of an audience and whether their interests/values align with whoever you're trying to promote. Shameless self-plug: Satosh.ee has a loyalty program where you can earn points that can be exchanged for sats -up to: 1% of gift cards, 2% on discount codes and 21% on membership sales. Currently invitations are either via email or by gifting Satoshee gift cards. Referral URL's coming soon. Quick introduction to Satosh.ee: #784376

I've been exploring zap.stream but that's a video streaming platform. Also, I've to tell you that there's no other better place than SN till now to earn sats.
reply
are you uploading there as a creator ? hows the experience?
reply
Not now. I'm just exploring my options for I'm gonna be riding on a bike all over India promoting Bitcoin, Lightning, SN and Nostr. So, I'm just exploring these video streaming platforms. So far my experience hasn't been too good with them.
reply
maybe post on both and try a tie in with one of the bitcoin publications perhoas, a bit like how joe nakomoto get sponsored

Yes, Joe is my inspiration. I'll make sure I walk on his path. I made up my mind about travelling after watching this video #496159 by Joe.

zapped you 10k to start you on the journey! YOU GOT THIS!!
reply
Thank you so much Joe. It means a lot for me coming from you. I wish you came here, we both travel together. India needs you.
I'll start this journey post Holi. It'll be a bike ride to every corner of India. I'll be simply following you. Asking people questions about Bitcoin and LN. I'm hoping for the best, though Indian people still are afraid to talk about Bitcoin.
reply
nice, please post updates here so we can follow along and support your journey
reply
Sure, I'll post a daily blog about the journey, my experiences, bitcoin talks and some of orange piling stories.
The journey will start post Holi but I'll soon post an update about what and how I intend it to be and how can I orange pile most on the way.

Make a video that's worth watching, as well as a ~30s teaser trailer for it that makes people feel they NEED to see it
Publish those to Lightning.Video and paywall it for 500-1000 sats or some sane amount
Share that link on other platforms to funnel traffic in
Profit.
(Lots of improvements coming Q1 that'll bring Nostr traffic in, better player etc, but for now it's simply the best publishing tool for ad-hoc value-added content production)

Most of what was said I’ve done. smiles app is a fitness and add one too. You can get about 100 sats a day
reply
I’ve been orange pilling normies with my River referral code and getting paid in Bitcoin!
River also has a cash fiat bank account that will pay out 3.8% APR interest in bitcoin for some free sats and you don’t do anything!
I'm inviting you to join me on River. Get up to $100 when you sign up with my link and buy Bitcoin! https://river.com/signup?r=2DBGIJXU

my work group and I searched diligently and so far platform to earn sts, the best and most complete is this, SN, the best, real earnings directly to your wallet. however if you like to interact with tokens I can leave you one that I use and is working very well, with more than 50k active users, what you generate there you change it to USDT and send it to your Wallet. https://t.me/Pepe988_bot?start=ref_128045 Come and form your team and let's make money together!
out of there my friend, SN is the best, no doubt.
