He is a very good actor and director.
He brings a lot of realism.
But is it really fair to compare him to other directors?
He is his own person.
I have to say, I also enjoy Robert Redfords movies.

Love Clints work...especially the early westerns.

I think no need to compare, each of them brings something unique to the industry. But his cowboy movies are great especially i like "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly" and "Unforgiven"

If you’d told the 41-year-old Eastwood, fresh off of Misty, that he’d direct 40 films, he might have squinted and scowled. (Even more than usual.)

He would not have believed his good fortune at all. Especially at winning Oscars multiple times. He is great as both a director and an actor. I thought he was great in his part in his film “Mule”.
