pull down to refresh

My little one is feeling a little under the weather today. I don't think she is sick but maybe played outside in the cold a bit too long yesterday. She has a stuffy nose and a mild cough.
Before my wife went to work she instructed me to keep our daughter "in bed today". Normally my wife gives me full autonomy on how and what to do when I am looking after the kiddos and I do the same for her. No one likes a back seat driver. However, this unspoken agreement doesn't apply when one of the kids is unwell. Don't mess with motherly instincts.
Anyways, I agreed to keep our daughter in bed for the day. So, I decided to prepare a light breakfast for her with some yogurt, granola and fruit. I put it all on a serving tray and brought it to her to have "breakfast in bed". She was pleased she got to eat in bed for once and stream her shows on Disney plus. I told her to sit up so she could eat and not spill anything. When she sat up she started laughing and said "I am sitting on something. I don't know what it is, but it is under my butt". Haha
She reaches under her and pulls out a small teddy bear. So I said "Be Careful! It's a butt biting bear. It's a bear that bites butts" and she started laughing again.
Thinking we were on to something here I started repeating it faster and faster "It's a butt biting bear. It's a bear that bites butts" rumbling, bumbling and stumbling along the way. Then my daughter started doing it. Suddenly my son pops his head out of his room and says "what are you guys doing?". I replied "we are twisting tongues".
When my son was younger he loved tongue twisters, so he was intrigued. He starts repeating "it's a butt biting bear. It's a bear that bites butts". To be honest, he did the best of the three of us.
It was some quick, impromptu family fun. (And just for reference, I have completely failed at keeping my daughter in bed today, she is currently walking around the house blowing incessantly into a recorder- don't tell my wife)
Sats for all, GR
You made your daughter laugh, and humour is a great antidote to counter sickness!
reply
Yes indeed
reply
Ha! Even if we had doctor's orders to keep our daughter in bed, we'd laugh at how ridiculous that prospect is.
reply
Almost impossible
reply
Haha Those impromptu moments are the ones that you remember best.
reply
Absolutely. Have to cherish these little moments while I can.
reply
They grow too fast. Unlike my bitcoin stack lol
reply
Tough to grow that stack these days and only going to get tougher over time. Just keep chipping away. It might not seem like much on a day to day basis but over time it will accumulate nicely.

The legend of the wholecoiners will soon be a myth.

Try this one as well and say this is the best one your uncle (we call Chcha) sent for you from India.
reply
Is there anywhere in India that gets that much snow? Looks like where I live. Haha.
reply
Yes, I suppose there are places in India which get much more snow than all of Canada.
I think you've forgotten that we've Himalyas to the north of us and most of the taller peaks are covered in snow all year round.
Have you heard the name of Kashmir? I believe it's one of the most beautiful places on Earth if not the best. Then we've Leh and Laddakh which normally have temperatures in minus all year round.
reply
Cool. I never thought of the Himalayas as part of India but the range is essentially India's northern border right?
reply
Yes in the north and I live right under the starting point of them.
Himalyas are vast, dense and very wide. They are divided in three parts. The southern part lies in whole of northern India running approximately 2500 kms, the width is also around 400 kms.
You get Snow in Canada mostly because of the higher latitudes, but here we get because of higher elevation of the Himalyas.
However I'm in the plains but we have also get one or two days where we can see dew getting frozen.
Please don't take this as criticism, I love Canada for its too much Snowy. ;)
