It's possible but biggest issue is the NDP (socialist party) doesn't have enough money to run a proper campaign and they would be poised to likely pick up some seats the Liberals will lose. Most of the Liberals losses will go to the Conservatives but I am sure the NDP will pick up some. Since the Liberals are a minority government the other parties could have triggered an election with a vote of non confidence but the NDP has been siding with the Liberals to avoid it so they can fundraise in the meantime.
Yes, the NDP can do that, but what is the cost to the Canadian economy and people? Perhaps the cost is too high to play that stupid political game. The reason they don’t have the money is that the people are not supporting them. In other words, they aren’t putting their money where their mouth is. Isn’t Singh the leader of the NDP? Don’t the Indians wish to support the NDP? India is a rather socialist, state oriented place, at least when I was there.

Singh is not very popular.

Yes, but he is the leader of the NDP, right? And with the parliamentary system, he only has to be popular in his riding, How does he maintain leadership if he is not very popular?
reply
Correct. We will see if he retains leadership or if they run someone else as the head of the party in the next election.
reply
That could be coming soon! Do you think the Liberals and the NDP will maintain their majorities or will the Conservatives and allies be able to overcome them in the elections if held soon?
