More young workers are considering alternatives to traditional four-year degrees

According to research from the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center, between 2019 and spring 2024, enrollment of bachelor’s degree students fell by 3.6 percent and associate’s degree enrollment fell by 15.9 percent. Vocational enrollment rose by 4.6 percent during the same time period.
  1. Provide career development opportunities
  2. Offer a path to entrepreneurship
  3. Develop tech-forward jobs and training opportunities
  4. Stay competitive on pay
  5. Provide a tech-savvy workplace
  6. Offer competitive benefits tailored to younger workers
I really like number 6. Offer to pay them in bitcoin or do matching plan to BTC retirement plans (if they exist)
The problem is that blue collar work is still looked at as undesirable. The older generation is leaving the trade, but they arent passing on their skills to the younger generation. Especially with boiler operators, many are from the older generation and are leaving a big gap in this area.
