I’m curious what everyone’s opinions are on what age should children be told Santa isn’t real?
Or how old were your children when they stopped believing?
Thinking this might be the last Christmas for our 10 year old.
I don't remember ever really believing to be honest. I felt like my kids figured it out for themselves by 10. And I talked to them about the idea that Santa is real, it's just not the way little kids are told..I honestly think it's a strange lie we tell young kids. While I like the spirit of Christmas In some ways, it also feels kind of twisted.

I always thought the idea was twisted especially when I found out about krampus lol we’ve never done the naughty or nice thing and he’s never asked Santa for anything. He just gets gifts from “Santa”

We approach it similarly. Our daughter gets gifts from Santa and she learns some of the other mythology from school and other kids. We don't reinforce it, though.
If it can just be a bit of extra fun on a holiday, that's ideal. I don't plan on ever lying to her about it, though.

I found out that Santa isn’t real when my teachers were gossiping about how innocent kids are to believe in Santa when discussing with the children what gifts they had asked from him. I was so disappointed that I went straight to my mom and dad to ask if it was true. They sadly confirmed it and told me that it’s actually them who had been giving me presents and they will continue to because they’re my Santa. Guess what? It was sad, but I was still getting my presents lol. I was probably 8 at the time. Thanks for asking!

I don’t remember how old I was but one year I got $20 from Santa and I was confused. My parents said he probably ran out of the game I wanted so gave me money instead so I can get it myself. Lol
I’m the oldest so I kept the facade for a bit

As long as possible.
I threaten my five-year-old that Santa won’t give him presents if he doesn’t finish up his dinner. What’s more, he believes in Black Santa, so that’s how I get through this stressful December period!

Yeah it’s weird and Fiat Land has turned it into a joke with the elf on the shelf garbage. Just spend more quality time with your kids as opposed to making up stuff and bragging on social media about how creative you are.
That said, to each their own. God is the only one who should judge and all this garbage takes focus away from the true meaning of Christmas and commercializes it. Let’s all remember it signifies Christ’s birth!

I feel like my 4 year old questions too much and will probably figure it out sooner than later. He already knows the Easter bunny is just a guy in a suit
