I wonder if Proton can implement a special NDR 550 message that users can configure on their email account.
With my own self-hosted email server I was configuring a 550 NDR rejecting message to all spam lists with the following message:
The spam will be more less if you create your own lists and use only specific whitelists to receive on your own domain.

Great share. I always use Proton Mail and their alias feature. These days, choose wisely whom you're going to provide your email. I get a ton of spam from throwaway alias emails that get exposed, and I just disable them to stop receiving crap.

Yeah, I use the hell out of aliases. I use domains I own, so my wife has a domain, when she wants to check out something she can just make up an address at will, and I'll get the email, once she is done doing whatever it is she is doing, I can just kill it. And then I have a separate domain for my stuff, they are filtered into their own folders. Works great!
Eventually I guess I'll have to make my kids a domain to use also, for game sign ups and such, haven't gotten there yet though.

That's a great setup! I never thought to own a personal domain as I'm just a normal user, but yes, it gives you a lot of flexibility and freedom.
This would be a great start, and your kids will learn a hell of a lot! Also, they'll thank you for giving them the best unique domain ;)
