I believe the bible has a lot of great teachings in it. And it's important for you to interpret them yourself. The problem is when men with big egos get involved and make spirituality into a corrupt religion I think. There are many paths to god.

I agree. But the more I started reading the Bible and other texts, I would say my ego literally disappeared. Also, you know, tough times can kill your ego too. I try my best to follow God’s path and His words.

I still see my ego pop up sometimes but I am quite aware of it now.

That's the point. Accepting that you have a problem means you have already solved it. We cannot control our feelings and thoughts, but we can self introspect and improve.
