Hello Stackers!
It's Thursday so that means it's Throwback Thursday Time!
Throwback Thursday is changing, (or rather, I'm trialling something out).
I'm going to give you a bunch of clues and I want you to guess the year and comment a song from that year. Highest ranked correct answer (by "top") gets the bounty. Entries close prior to "Feel Good Friday" Post.
🚨A guess without a correct song doesn't win, both your guess and the song must be from the correct year.🚨
Here we go!
  • Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon Released on March 1, this album is considered a classic and one of the best-selling albums of all time. It was the best-selling album of the year, though it only spent one week at number one on the Billboard 200.
  • Led Zeppelin's Tampa Stadium concert Led Zeppelin broke the Beatles' record for largest concert attendance when they played to 56,800 people at Tampa Stadium.
  • The Summer Jam at Watkins Glen This concert broke Woodstock's record with 600,000 fans in attendance. The Band, The Allman Brothers, and The Grateful Dead performed at the event.
  • Some of the top-ten singles in the UK included "Welcome Home" by Peters and Lee, "Block Buster!" by The Sweet, and "Cum On Feel the Noize" by Slade.
  • Some of the popular pop hits included "China Grove" by The Doobie Brothers, "You're So Vain" by Carly Simon, "Rocky Mountain High" by John Denver, and "Live and Let Die" by Paul McCartney & Wings.
  • Some musical groups that were formed include AC/DC, Academy of Ancient Music, Aerial, and Alabama.

Pink Floyd's "Money" critiques greed and the corrupting power of wealth, and it’s just as relevant today as it was in 1973. Amazing how these lyrics still resonate half a century later.
reply
Great submission. And yeah those lyrics are fully relevant today, if not even more so.

The Dark Side of the Moon is the eighth studio album by British rock band Pink Floyd, released on 1 March 1973 by Harvest Records in the United Kingdom and Capitol Records in the United States. I share one of the songs from that successful album:
