We boarded a Singapore Airlines flight to Fukuoka. We received the following souvenirs for our kids.
I was not amused. They look cheap and uninspiring. My children are not consumers of the Mickey Mouse brand yet, but I don’t see how these run-of-the-mill toys would excite Mickey Mouse fans. I will try to ditch these toys before we return to Singapore so that they don’t take up valuable luggage space.
We then took a Japan Airlines flight to Tokyo. We received this interesting memento.
Colour me impressed. This simple and meaningful toy tapped on my boy’s kinesthetic skills. It also promoted JAL’s branding at the same time. I thought it was ingeniously executed.
Anyway, my brother-in-law and his wife came over to visit my parents-in-law the other day. The wife remarked to her husband about how sugoi (amazing) Singapore Airlines is. I don’t think she was being polite because I was not meant to overhear the conversation haha.
Through this incident, I learnt that one man’s meat is another man’s poison.
