Prayer has definitely made me a better person. Some people think of prayer as offering positive healing thoughts to the universe. My prayer is to give glory to God for the beauty of the world and the precious gift of life.

I know that is an ideal. There is pain and ugliness in the world, and for some people, life is painful and a burden. But I try to think of the world as beautiful and life as precious to keep from losing faith and hope altogether and sinking into despair, which sometimes feels like it is only a prayer away.
