Howzzat Cricket Lovers!
The round 3 of Cricket Pool (December) has just finished and it's time we have a look at the results of matches/pool questions and pool standings.
(This post is published after every round of the pool to give you all a clear idea where you stand in the pool and form your strategy for the next rounds.)

The Results (Round 3, Decenber)

Predict the winners
  • Winner: England
  • Winner: Australia
  • Winner: South Africa
  • Winner: Ireland Women
Predict for Extra Runs
Q.1. How many runs Will India score in their first innings against Australia? (If you predict + - 50 runs, you win this prediction)
  • India scored 180 runs in their first innings. (Read the scorecard from the match link above).
Q.2. Will Virat score 150 runs in both his innings against Australia? Answer with Yes or No.
  • No, Virat didn't get going in both the innings and could only score 7 in first innings and 11 in his second.

Pool Standings (Round 3, Dec 2024)

Pool Standings (Total Score - Dec 2024)

Mixed results and mixed emotions on this one! Surprisingly, the new Prediction about runs is seemingly taking a toll on all the wild ass guessers. If they don't take this round as a lesson, their performance and chances for the annual rewards will keep dwindling.
There are still a few very good performances by @suraz, @TheMorningStar and @astro_penguin getting a Bingo each. @TheMorningStar has tied down on top with @User21000000 with more than 1 stacker running behind by at least 3 points, still early (you know what @Undisciplined did last month.)
At last I want to add a note for Indian stackers. What are you guys doing? Cricket is in your blood and nerves and what you're getting 1 or 2 runs! Yes, @BitcoinAbhi and @IamSINGLE, you both are letting down here. (Just trying to pump you guys, at least ve competitive).

Pool Prize (Breakdown)

  • For December: 11705 Sats
  • For 2024-2025 Session (Annual Rewards: Distributed on Halloween 2025): 110880 Sats
Note: The Round 4 for December is already up.
Thanks for playing.

Ouch I am doing even worse now that I am actually trying instead of guessing.
reply
You need to do better than @Undisciplined to escape the humiliation he'd shower on you. If I were doing good (which I'm not), I'd tell you my picks before the rounds. But you see my resume for predictions has nothing to show.
reply
My luck's run out. I'm barely staying ahead of @grayruby.

I don’t believe in jinxes but we discussed your prominence in Cricket picking and now you are falling from grace.
reply
You didn't listen. He's still throwing mud at you.
reply
Seems like your crystal ball ain't working anymore
reply
I’m just throwing everyone off the scent.
reply
reply
You should be happy because you're ahead of not only @grayruby but also me.
reply
you both are letting down here
What! I'm still one point ahead of you and you're trying to pump. Actually you're letting down here. ;).
reply
Ouch! I forgot to mention about my performance. Yupp, I'm ashamed of it and I'll try to put up good show in next rounds.

Picture abhi baki hai mere dost
reply
Baki to hai par sabse niche. What are you doing?
reply
Busy in business. So no time to analyse.
reply
Alright. But you must be aware this score will count for the annual reward which is already 110k sats.

It turns out that you don't want I win. You could tell me that I needed to pick. But I understand fair play. πŸ‘πŸ‘ I'll try to be here
reply
The pool is shrinking? Hopefully I find some form during my middle order batsman and finish the month strong
reply
If only I had picked Australia! πŸ˜‚ I normally would have, but India showed some good signs in the first test and the warmup match.
reply
Yes, you missed a sure Jumbo there. Even I picked India for the same reason. The warm up matches are played for only warmup and Australia had their low profile eleven there.
reply
Yeah, I guess that's why I'm not a cricket analyst! It is something I enjoy about the sport though, it only takes a few well placed wickets to completely change the direction of a game.
reply
As they say, "it only requires 11 good balls to finish your opponent in cricket."
People say Cricket is now a batsmen game but I believe it's the bowlers who really decide the fate of a team.
reply
Very true! I would tend to agree on the importance of bowlers as well, even in the more batsman focused formats.
reply
Over the years, even I. T20 leagues, I've seen most of the times a team that's more lethal with their bowling attack went on to win the title than a team that's been a batting powerhouse.
You can take for example RCB which always had a powerful batting but never won the title. On the other hand there's Perth Scorchers in Big Bash who keeps on surprising everyone by defending lower than the lowest targets and won Big Bash more than others because of their bowling.
reply
There's definitely something to that. Some of the totals I've seen defended are very impressive! It makes for a pretty exciting game.
reply
After a bright start last month, I am showing my real face with cricket 🀣
reply
You shouldn't be dejected as of now. There's still a lot of Cricket left this month and we've even crossed 110k sats mark for annual rewards.
