~Bitcoin News of the Day
- By framing Bitcoin as the “wild west” of finance, regulators aim to steer the public toward these controlled alternatives. But let’s be real: the “wild west” is where innovation happens. Bitcoin thrives because it’s outside the system, not because it needs a seat at their table.

- China's consumer inflation hit a five-month low in November as fresh food prices pulled back while factory deflation persisted, suggesting Beijing's recent efforts to shore up faltering economic demand are having only limited impact. The world's second-largest economy is bracing for likely fresh tariffs from a second Donald Trump White House and still dealing with other headwinds, suggesting more policy stimulus will be needed to shore up fragile growth.

The Republican also vowed to end automatic citizenship for anyone born in the country, but offered to work with Democrats to help some undocumented immigrants who were brought to the US as children.

- Bombs and peace are seemingly paradoxical concepts and yet it was once believed that nuclear bombs could play a positive role by facilitating infrastructure projects. Disclosed in recently released National Archive documents, unearthed by the researcher and journalist Tom Scott, the plan was to detonate the bomb 2,000ft beneath the national park in order to create high-pressure gas storage facilities. Such a method would avoid mechanical digging, which was time consuming and labour intensive. In other words, it was seen as easier to create holes through demolition rather than construction. Locals, for their inconvenience, were to be financially compensated, but this only accounted for the short-term disruptions – a minor earthquake and subsequent building damage – rather than the radiation, which would be difficult to clean from the natural gas let alone expunge from these communities.
