Just hours after being discovered, an asteroid struck Earth’s atmosphere in November 2024; yet, it mysteriously evaded impact monitoring systems as it approached our planet. On the plus side, though, the object was only 3 feet (1 meter) in diameter and hardly threatened anything on the surface of the Earth. 2024 UQ, a newly discovered asteroid, has aroused public and scientific interest.
