91 terawatts isn't an energy quantity. The article links to the data source and its 91 terawatt-hours. That's equivalent to an average 10.4 gigawatts. The total world electric power capacity is around 10 terawatts, much of which is burned up as waste heat in resistive dump packs to keep the generators running and the grid balanced.
