I used phoenixd on my AlbyHub on Umbrel, which has a similar backend / dependence on the ACINQ node. That is still working, but it is technically self custody.
Phoenixd works very well. I have it on my laptop and I've spun it up and played with it. I'm in the US. I have Phoenix wallet and I've haven't used it in a while.
Zeus is a good choice for running a node on your phone and it works on chain and L2. I've recently played with it.

I also use Zeus, Breez, and Strike. However, with Zeus and Breez, I mostly encounter "no route found" errors, which I believe is because they don't have many channels open(when compare to Acinq's). Acinq has a lot more channels, so I think the Phoenix Wallet might be a better option.

no route found
Is mostly because your Zeus is not synced. Zeus is using Neutrino to sync the blocks and that is quite different than Phoenix that is using electrum SPV.
Please read carefully the Zeus FAQ, it is described there your situation

Here I explained in more details about Zeus and neutrino peers

And here you have an advanced guide for Zeus
