Obviously both and red go unambiguously up. Hard to see any difference at all.
But notice how there is a subtle exp-curvature to all the red areas and a subtle log-curvature to all the blue areas? Like literally all of them without exception.
Dems like to spend after getting elected and become slightly more careful before the next election. Reps like looking responsible in the beginning and panic spend before the next election.
As said in the beginning: small marginal difference. The overall trend dwarves this small pattern. But still interesting.

Yes, indeed. I hope they cut the deficit completely. Perhaps even start paying off the debt as it stands. They have to take a massive ax to the budget in most respects.
