Every 49er that got the big deal has underperformed what they did prior to the big deal. This seems to be a trend in sports where guys get the deal and start to get a bit comfortable.

I am not saying athletes shouldn't get paid but I am surprised teams are still handing out these long term mega deals when aside from  a few exceptions most of them end up being terrible investments.
