But sending and receiving sats is what makes Stacker News (and Bitcoin) great. Every 'article' I've written I've fully expected some people to agree with... and others to disagree with and that's what makes Bitcoin great. But I've never written an article to 'earn sats' give me a break. Instead I write because SN is a great forum and a homebase for Bitcoin 'out in the wild' at least as closely as it can approximate.

It's a "third place" for Bitcoiners... when they're not at work (where noone knows about Bitcoin) or at home (when I introduced Bitcoin to family and they were like ???). SN is a place to 'hang out' and that's all. I've learned a lot being here, while also disagreeing with some of the takes here but that's natural.

I know, you MUST say it. You seem to be unable to communicate a thought to me without throwing an insult in the mix. That is your ego buddy. Take a look. It's NOT necessary. You might find people listen to you better if you left out the petty jabs. How would you describe an idiot? It seems it is probably just people who have different views than you. What is an idiot to you?

I don't doubt your intentions. You clearly care about SN. You're not alone in that, though.

Whether you want to or not, getting rid of the rewards system would destroy stacker news.

Nothing you've described as a problem requires that as a solution.
