When my asthma is under control, I have no problems exercising. It even makes me breathe better. I don't breathe through my nose because it is always blocked by rhinitis and because I have a deviated septum. When my asthma is out of control, any movement makes my chest hurt a lot. It is excruciating and I start to cough uncontrollably until I turn purple. I have to immediately use the rescue inhaler (salbutamol).

I practice simple yoga, at beginner level. As I said, exercising helps me with my breathing when my asthma is under control. Asthma is a disease in which the airways close and become inflamed. It is not something that can be controlled or cured with exercise alone, which is why corticosteroids are used in inhalers to keep the airways deflated. I live in one of the most polluted cities on the continent. In addition to the humid climate, living here was what triggered my asthma. Not only in me, but in many people. Out of 10 people I know, 6 have respiratory problems at some point. Exercising helps a lot in daily life, but when asthma is not under control, it is difficult to do so.
