It sure feels like they are to me. They have a tough schedule and are still suffering through injuries. At best they may make the playoffs but this season feels lost to me.

If they were in any other division (well, other than the NFC South), they'd be toast. This division is so bad that anything's possible. That said, with the injuries they've taken, even if they back into the playoffs, I can't see them going on a run.

Exactly. I don't doubt they can make the playoffs but they aren't making any run.

That's interesting, because I feel like their (conditional) odds of making a playoff run are better than their odds of making the playoffs.
Should they make the playoffs, some of their guys should be coming back from injury. The CMC loss is a really bad break, though.

CMC and Mason are out. The running game belongs to the rookie who has more fumbles than first downs. He can be very explosive. He has a couple huge touchdown runs this year but he can also be awful. Hardly doubt they only get explosive from him for the next 5 games.

So, they'll have make do with just Deebo and Jus and the best blocking TE in the league and the best run designer in the league?

Both Deebo and Jus look washed this year. We will see.

In that case, they're in a bit of a pickle, indeed.

Neither has been bad but they look like avg players this year instead of pro bowlers. Jus is still blocking well.

Yes
They have a tough schedule
The team has been off all season.
They can win the division by sweeping their division games

Its not impossible but I don't see them making the bowl. I doubt they far in the playoffs if they even make it.

They'll rise from the dust and will write their name in the history of NFL as the greatest comeback ever.

The "ex-Jets suddenly blossom elsewhere" thing may help them:

Not technically but yes.
On the bright side. 11 draft picks to address the OLine, DLine, TE2, Safety, RB depth. They should have a significantly less tumultuous offseason and their schedule next year will be much easier. They definitely had one of the most difficult schedules in the NFL this year and the most snaps missed due to injury, most all pro snaps missed due to injury, most pro bowl snaps missed due to injury.
Injuries aren't the only issue. They need to address the Defensive coordinator and Special Teams coaches and find a way to get back to Niner football.
