"Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.” - Dr. Seuss
Ever stopped to think about why you are, 'you'? Like, what makes you...you? Is it your thoughts? Your memories? Your body? or something deeper that stays constant no matter what changes?
Think about this, your body is constantly replacing cells. The 'you' from ten years ago doesn’t even exist on a physical level anymore. they shift and evolve with every new experience. Even your memories, the things you swear define your life are just fragments, constantly being reshaped by time and perspective.
what’s left then? What’s the thing that makes you 'you'? Is it the choices you make? the values you hold? or some unchanging essence deep down? Or maybe...you are just the act of being aware, the observer behind it all watching everything change while somehow still being you.
It’s an interesting. That 'you' might be less about what you do or remember and more about simply existing, here and now. But that’s just one way to look at it.
why is you, you?
