Let’s get real for a sec. Who are you, really? Like, not your name, your job, or that cool thing you tell people to sound interesting. I mean the real you, behind all that surface stuff.
Is it your thoughts? Your memories? That little voice in your head that won’t shut up? (Yeah, that one.) Or is the idea of 'you' just something your brain made up to keep life from feeling totally chaotic? Here’s where it gets weird: if you lost your memories, would you still be you? If your body changed completely, would you still feel like yourself? Where is this “self” hiding, anyway? Your brain? Your heart? Somewhere you can’t even point to?
Maybe the truth is, you’re not one thing at all. Maybe you’re this mix of moments, feelings, choices—always shifting, never pinned down. Like a playlist that keeps updating, but somehow still feels like... you.
So, who are you? Or maybe the real question is... are you?

Beautifully written!
This is what I was saying. Your action needs to be your answer.
I really like it.
Thank you!
Philosophical questions. I will take a different path to answer them.
Throughout our lives, we absorb values that, without realizing it, we accept as ours, without questioning them. The social environment influences the way we think, this is due to our social environment and cultural factor. Are the accumulation of our thoughts necessarily ours?
Returning to the topic, I simplify what I am, it is when I put my head on the pillow at night, and at that moment, there is no subterfuge and there is no way to get rid of my true self. At this moment there are no masks, and no lies that I tell myself to comfort myself. For me, we are the memory of what we experienced in the "reality" we created.
Well said. It’s in those quiet moments, free from distractions, that we truly face ourselves. No masks, no noise just the essence of who we are and the reality we’ve shaped for ourselves. That’s where the answers lie.
Thanks
Thank you for the topic and being able to share my thoughts
You're welcome
Exceptional! Whooo are you? Who, who, who, who? 🎵 Whooo are you, who, who?
I should have kept this as the title line!
i am you -
We’re all just different versions of the same thing
I am Dad
Proud of you :)
This is an interesting question. I feel like it's a tough one to answer. Coincidentally I did lose a lot of my memories a few years back. I had a seizure and it messed with my brain a bit. And since then I have literally felt like a different person.
Sorry you went through that. It’s how losing memories can make you feel like a whole new person. Makes you wonder what really makes us us?
Every time we had a convo, you really inspired me.
No, I'm just 1 thing. Fucking awesome.
Yes, you are!
I once read that thoughts are like clouds, they come and go. We’re the thing that decides on which thoughts we act on and which we ignore.
In that sense, I guess we are the weather.
Beautiful! If thoughts are clouds and we’re the weather, then maybe our essence is the sky? unchanging, always there, just watching it all pass by.
I am everything and at the same time nothing.
That’s deep
everything and nothing all at once. I feel that
in this box, i am stacker.news, i am bitcoin, i am the zapper and the zappée! ⚡👨💻
You’re the zap and the zappée the flow and the energy. If you’re both, does the 'self' even need a box? It’s all just one big zap 👨💻⚡
In an ideal world, I’m an incorrigible traveller, but in real life, I’m a dad, a husband and a teacher
That's great. you’re living a different kind of adventure one with family, wisdom, and love
very particular way of asking something that has many perspectives, knowing what our essence is, strength, energy, knowing who you are and what you are not, in the end, regardless of whether you change bodies, lose your memories, you should not change that essence that you are, not even because the universe tried, you are you.
We know who are you: the assmilker
Who are you to tell me? Who are you? Huh? Learn to behave like a user here, you don't own SN lol
