Hello Stackers!
It's Thursday so that means it's Throwback Thursday Time!
Throwback Thursday is changing, (or rather, I'm trialling something out).
I'm going to give you a bunch of clues and I want you to guess the year and comment a song from that year. Highest ranked correct answer (by "top") gets the bounty. Entries close prior to "Feel Good Friday" Post.
🚨A guess without a correct song doesn't win, both your guess and the song must be from the correct year.🚨
Here we go!
  • Elvis Presley died at age 42.
  • Marc Bolan of T. Rex died in a car crash in the UK.
  • Ronnie Van Zandt and two other members of Lynyrd Skynyrd died in a plane crash.
  • David Bowie and Bing Crosby performed a duet on an American TV Christmas special.
  • Elvis Costello made his American television debut on Saturday Night Live.
And this iconic album was released featuring this song.

Great tune that later helped bring rock and hip hop together for the first time.

Great pick Roll.

1977, and I almost went with "Hotel California," but turns out it actually was released at the end of the previous year.
So let's go with the other huge hit from that year with staying power.

It's such a cheeky one as Hotel California was 1976 as a single but the album was 77. Just like rumours ;) it's why I picked it, hoping to throw a curveball out a little.
Id have accepted HC as an answer though I think, as it is 77 for the album
Edit.
I stand corrected, Google tells me HC album was 8 December 1976 😱😱

At 2 p.m. on August 16, 1977, Elvis Presley, just 42, had been dead for several hours. His body was lying on the bathroom floor. His head was resting in a pool of vomit. He was wearing gold pajama pants rolled up at the ankles and was lying on a book, which some claimed was the Holy Shroud and others, an illustrated book on sexual positions according to the zodiac sign.
