88 sats radio is proposing something interesting here.
In this video he explains why his channel is called 88 sats radio. Basically they set up a company/trust in 2021 with 88 people sending in sats to a multisig to have enough fiat to buy a golf course in Canada some day in the future.
Now he is thinking about making a new company/trust where 100 bitcoiners contribute 1M sats and they look for investment opportunities. Everything from buying properties to businesses.
Very novel idea. Not sure if I will join but very interesting investment club.

Hey it's Jor. My nostr buddy from Canada who loves golf. Unexpected.
Jor was supposed to do some golf posts for the territory but he never did.
Busy with other things I guess.

It's a fine line. You can certainly create an investment club privately amongst a group of friends or coworkers and create an LLC where every person is a partner and has an equal share. That seems perfectly legal to me but soliciting investment on Instagram and offering a market for partners to sell shares externally seems questionable.
Also when you get into holding assets like golf courses, real estate etc that are not passive investments I think you are also delving into potential issues. Maybe not but if they had a real diverse group of holdings it looks a lot more like an asset manager than an investment club.
