No, it's always better to just pick a winner. It's maybe a reason to take a riskier pick.
Got it. Eat the 3k to pick a likely loser to save a winner.
But I don’t want a dirty trophy. I want to earn #1 without any re-buys!!
Will odds come out Thanksgiving day?

I don't know, they're very inconsistent with the odds release schedule.
I wouldn't even say you want to pick a likely loser, just a less certain winner.

Good advice!

Here are the spreads:
  • Knicks (-12.5)
  • Cavs (-7.5)
  • Grizzlies (-10.5)
  • Magic (-8.5)
  • T-Wolves (-5.5)
  • Pacers (-5.5)
  • Heat (-6.5)
  • Celtics (-10.5)
  • Thunder (-1.5)
  • Kings (-5)
Btw, games start early tomorrow.

Uh oh! Now the Cavs are tipping off. Your options are dwindling.
If you don't choose, by rule you'll be assigned the Hornets and they already lost.

Ouch. I didn't know about that rule.

Out of curiosity, do you think the rule is just that you get the Hornets whenever you forget to pick?
reply
No I didn't know you were automatically given a team when you forgot to pick. I know you did something similar last year where they get the worst team if they fail to pick but didn't know that was in play this year.

I like the idea of subjectively choosing whoever I think is the lamest pick. That will be under consideration for next year.
