I don’t know that the developers will melt down like snowflakes! I think they are a slightly different breed of person with a bit different psyches from your run of the mill person.

This looks like the problems that Debian and Suse or System V and Solaris had for interoperablility. They will get around to clearing the problems within the distribution system when they get around to finding out “the more, the merrier”.
