Hi stackers. This past year, I’ve been somewhat distant, but not due to a lack of love for Bitcoin or this awesome community. During this time, I’ve been more immersed in the physical world than in the digital one, confronting a harsh reality: life on the streets. I’ve seen firsthand the vulnerability of many people, especially young ones, diagnosed with various mental health issues and marginalized, not only by society but even by their own families. It’s a heartbreaking reality. I’ve tried to help in any way I could. Sometimes, you solve someone's day with a warm meal; other times, you manage to change their week with a little extra support. But as I did this, my mind couldn't stop thinking: How can we leverage Bitcoin to create a solution, even if temporary, for these individuals?
This project is not just an opportunity to help those who need it most, but also a powerful way to demonstrate the potential of Bitcoin as a tool for empowerment and social change. Imagine a world where you don’t need a bank account to regain your dignity or have a bit of stability. That world is possible, and Bitcoin can be the way. I look forward to hearing your ideas, feedback, and suggestions. If this resonates with you, consider collaborating or simply dropping some sats to support this initiative when it’s ready. Together, we can turn small fractions of Bitcoin into big changes for those who need it most.
Proposals represent a spectrum of ideas, from immediate assistance to long-term solutions, each one is rooted in the idea that Bitcoin can be used not only as a store of value but as a practical, day-to-day tool to help those in need. By utilizing the power of Bitcoin’s peer-to-peer, censorship-resistant nature, we can make a real impact in the lives of young people who need it most. Together, we can offer not just hope, but real, tangible help, and most importantly, create a model of community-based support that is free from traditional financial systems. Let’s get to work!

Homeless people are often a marginalized group, both socially and technologically. However, they are an incredibly resilient and creative population. The young people I’ve met are hungry for solutions, even if they lack the proper tools or guidance. This is where I believe Bitcoin, with its philosophy of empowerment, can play a key role. Bitcoin doesn’t discriminate. It’s accessible to anyone with a basic phone and an internet connection. Additionally, transactions are transparent, direct, and, most importantly, decentralized. This means we can design solutions where support doesn’t go through intermediaries that reduce the effectiveness of the aid, right?

What I Need from You

I know I can’t do this alone. My time working with this community has shown me that the best ideas come when we collaborate. So, I want to present a proposal to all the brilliant minds in the saloon: How can we make this more efficient, scalable, and effective?
Some questions that still linger are:
  • How can we ensure that those who need help the most are the ones receiving it?
  • What mechanisms can we implement to prevent system abuse?
  • How can we encourage more merchants to accept Bitcoin in vulnerable neighborhoods?

A First Step: Launching a Pilot

My idea is to start with a local pilot. This is where we could test small but concrete solutions:
  1. Identify Beneficiaries: Work with local NGOs to find young people in need of help who are interested in participating.
  2. Set Up Simple Wallets: Help them install easy-to-use wallets and explain how they work.
  3. Channel Donations: Set up a page where Bitcoiners can send funds directly.
  4. Measure the Impact: Document how these small donations affect the lives of the beneficiaries.

The Road Ahead

To make these ideas a reality, we need active collaboration between developers, local businesses, and the broader community. Every small step contributes to building a significant pathway to real change. If each Bitcoiner commits to just one of these initiatives, we could transform lives and prove that Bitcoin is not only censorship-resistant money but also a powerful tool for good.
Thank you to everyone who read this far. I look forward to hearing your ideas and critiques to refine these proposals further. If any of them inspired you, let’s make it happen together! 🚀
