Due to excessive zapsturbation. (people zapping themselves to rank higher in the hot/top lists and in the rewards pool and get more sats).

Personally, I think it is a bit high but it is something they wanted to test. I like 20%.

I prefer a graduated scheme, where long-running, active accounts can have lower sybil fees and newer, less active accounts have higher fees (after some grace period for newbies).

Honestly, though, I'm pretty content paying a 30% tax to have access to this service right now. There's nothing else like it on the internet as far as I can tell

You also have to consider that some of the taxes come back in the form of rewards. Look at it like a tax return. Haha.
