My liberal brother-in-law said he was going to move to Mexico if Trump was re-elected. Except he's not.

reply

They said the same thing in 2016. Didn’t happen.

reply

I once thought about moving to Canada. Trudeau put an end to that.

reply

Didn’t know that. What area of Canada?

reply

Not seriously, but I used to spend a lot of time in Montreal.

reply

Montreal is nice to visit.

reply

100% French up there. Almost got lost because I couldn’t understand the road signs

reply

Which one, Pierre or Justin? They were both cut from the same bolt! :)

I feel like we get this nearly every cycle one way or another. Here's the 2012 edition where Republicans were supposedly leaving the country. As threats go, it's up there with Texas/California talks about seccession.

The level of brainwashing is astounding. Not even a force as great as Bitcoin can save these people, they need some sort of psychedelic, spiritual, something or rather, paired with a reality check and a something else.

reply

zero people will actually move, all talk

reply

People on the losing side have been saying this since Kennedy, that I know of! It was really bad for Regan and Clinton times, too.
I don’t think this will ever change, but most of it is talk. The rest may have some very good reasons to actually move.

reply

I'll laugh when Pierre Poilievre then immediately gets elected

reply

That would be a shocker for the migrators from the US, wouldn’t it?

reply

My coworker was telling me that countries in the EU are accepting immigration based on politics.
I thought that was hilarious.
Why would you move out of your own country knowing the president will change in 4 years?
