Not really but stackers seem to be zapping less. Maybe I am too. Haven't really thought about it or intentionally changed my behavior but haven't been cracking the top spenders lately.

I dont feel it is that stackers are zapping less, it seems like there is less meaningful connections happening. Sometimes I struggle to find something recent to reply on. I have noticed a lot of new faces, and a lot of old ones have disappeared.

Maybe it’s just the sports territory. I have noticed we are getting a lot more posts but posts only getting zapped 200-500 sats where in the past a lot of posts would get over 1k.
reply
I wouldnt know too much about the sport section... I wish I could participate more, seems like those posts have the participation. There are times I want to comment but cant because I dont know enough on some of the subjects.

Not really and I feel like something is awry with bitcoin on a bigger level.
Both price and hashrate are up but I don’t feel like the number of users is up very much at all.
Seems like a lot of us that stuck out the bear market are all still here but no zealous newcomers eager to stack and learn.

I've been at 1sat/KRW parity for a while now. Hasn't really changed by zapping habits, so I guess it hasn't changed much. Likely because within this closed ecosystem, my incoming/outgoing zap ratio hasn't changed much yet, at least not due to reaching such parity.

Not really.

They still feel the same when hit by em.
The sats accumulated in the zap jar feel heavier.
reply
Does it? I feel it would be nice, but to tell you the truth, I dont use my sats from SN.... So not really. But for the people that are converting over to gift cards, I am sure it makes a difference.
reply
No, but I can imagine why that territory rent might be hitting different.
reply
100k into rewards everyday definitely does too.

Any plans to adjust?
reply
Nothing concrete. Just pros/cons.

Did you put in less one of the days last week, when there was a big boost?
I noticed a fairly large donation of over 30k and thought you might be changing the strategy.

It was a slow day and the big boost covered most of what we donate to the rewards pool.
reply
Just covering the shortfall from 100k might be a nice way to ween us off of your subsidy and gradually reduce your expenses.

561 sats zapped is 56 cents!
But a dollar is still worthless to me. 0.001 bitcoin however feels like a lot. On my way to 0.01 which is A LOT!
reply
Giving them too, here's 20 dollars of sats, well they will be one day

zaps are one of the few ways i dont ever think about btc in relation to the USD price. i think my zapping is more affected by my existing bag o sats

It hits other people different when I tell them about the amazing Bitcoin ecosystem which of course includes Stacker.News. They're amazed when I tell them people are regularly getting paid $10-$100 for posting on a message board.
reply
Not really, honestly. Same number of sats as before
reply
Haven’t intentionally changed my zapping behaviour but got a good dose of endorphins the other day when I received $10 more worth of takeout voucher than I normally would from my sats

Welcome!
Australia hit around 1000 sats per dollar earlier this year. It makes it easier to estimate in sats, but it won't last. AUD is around 6-700 sats now.
reply
Yes, I think we have less number of zappers than before. May be they've gone on holiday in celebration. But I don't think that anyone's changed zapping amount.
reply
My goal is corrected with 1000 sat/$. 100mln sats looks impossible atm
reply
lol yes 😂 No change to zapping habits but the amount I zap has reduced by approximately 50%. I’m not made of electricity, people.
reply
Not really.
