pull down to refresh

I finally finished Resistance Money last night. It took me a while because I read my kindle in bed before I go to sleep and I usually only last a few minutes. That's no reflection on the book, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I am toying with the idea of writing a review, but I want to get some opinions from stackers first.
I found it to be a very well written, lively discussion of bitcoin that explains even technical ideas in plain language. I like the objective approach, addressing criticisms and fud head on. The overarching question is whether the world is better off because bitcoin exists.
What is the general opinion of the book among stackers?
Did you like the fact that the authors approached the book from a philosophical perspective?
Did you believe their claimed objectivity? Full disclosure: They seemed like closeted maxis to me.

Philosophical approaches are typical of very serious subjects. I've never read this book, but I think that if I read a good summary and liked it, I might be tempted to read it.

@denlillaapan recommended this book to me and I have only glanced at it so far. But it looks wonderful on my bookshelf!

Hahah yeah, totally closeted maxis -- hiding behind a veneer of academic rigor :)
Also, yes I loved it. And probs I had the honor to be the first full-length review out there:

Great! Thanks for the link.

Please share a review about book whatever you like. I never read it.

I have never read it. But the title reminds me of this little saying I learned years ago. "What we resist, persists". So this gives me a maxi vibe for sure. And while I agree that Bitcoin is the way through, I prefer a more expansive and inclusive vibe than the resistance. This is purely me talking from an uninformed energetic perspective. 🤷‍♂️

Congrats!
I didn't read it because I didn't want to listen any sincere case against Bitcoin.
It seemed to me by reading some of the reviews that this book does mention a few of the things that aren't really there.

Don't understand this comment

I mean I didn't read the book because I didn't like the reviews about it. The book is a slog while it narrates about Bitcoin predecessors in so much detail.

The hoi polloi have spoken! We haven't read it and want a review from your perspective :)

Okay. It's a big book. I have some work to do.

We want a review from your POV about this book!

You should write a review from your perspective. Might give others a reason to read it.
