Usually, it works the way you expect it to, but there can be oddities if someone just happens to zap top posts really early.

Also, there's a lag in updating the rankings, so the lower stacker may have ended up higher on the board.

It doesn't matter, ranking isn't based on how much you spend. It's the algorithm that works in such a way that whoever created quality content or I would say engaged more ranks hire. It's not random.

I've already asked this question when I was new to SN from @ek and @k00b and they told me this.

I have a small doubt, a few days ago out of curiosity I looked at the list of rewards and I noticed this, so I had the doubt of knowing how the rewards work or is it something random? In my opinion, I thought that these users should be in inverted positions, since the one below has spent more, has stacked more and has had more interactions.
