Today was our monthly bitcoin meetup in Leipzig, Germany. The price of BTC is through the roof! 98k and you would think the world cares.
But guess what, nobody cares. 10 people at the meetup. Usually in the summer we are around 20 people.
What is going on out there?
Anyway, it was fantastic as always! We played with lightning. With NFC cards. And we even had bitcoin cookies.
This group is great, we talk about family, life, philosophy, sports, hobbies and of course bitcoin.
Whenever you are in doubt that you are too late, out of 620k people in Leipzig, 10 cared about showing up.
We are fucking early! And we have cookies!
Sounds like the meetups I have been to. great people. not many.

i expect no new people at our meetup christmas party, or 1-2 new people at most, regardless of what the fiat price tag shows. consistency of showing up to the meeting is key, retain every curious soul that shows up.

10 out of 620k is an excellent number. A few days ago I heard on a Podcast that approximately less than 1% of the world's population knows and handles Bitcoin, and with only 16 years of existence -of course we are early- Bitcoin is the salvation for those who wake up from the illusion of the system.

How many actually live on a bitcoin standard: minimum cash or other assets. 0.01%? Less than 1 in 10,000, for sure. Probably 1 in 100,000. I’ve heard of one person IRL, a co-worker of a co-worker. He was mining very early, I think gpu mining. Other than that, I’m the only one I know (offline)
