It's a simple measure to bring down how well connected is your node to one number.
We are trying to make this feature better, more nuanced and with some tips to improve health. In general, if you have 2-3 active channels with both receiving and spending capacities, not mixed public and private channels - then your node is good!
The monthly fee only applies if you are using the alby hub in the alby cloud. It looks like you're using the hub (open source) hosted on another server managed by you and not by alby. Is that right?
Monthly fee only applies to cloud hosted node, so we could maintain it for you. It also comes with Alby Benefits (discount club, coming soon), special Discord channels, premium support and automatic backups!
Something similar happened to me, but I don't think it's the same issue.
If you open a new channel to "top up" your spending balance, 10% of the channel size will seemingly disappear from your savings balance, but it's being held on-chain.
I had this happen as well, but I'm assuming it was because the node was offline.
Side note, any ideas on how to make a node healthier in Alby? I'm hosting Alby Hub myself.

Thank you for being awesome!
Was it the monthly fee the take out?
What monthly fee? I've been using it on my desktop for months without fees

Yes! I'm using the desktop version on my own computer
@bren also, I don't think it's a fee because it doesn't show on my wallet history. The last entry is the 25k sats deposit

And everything else in Alby is free (and open-source)!
My sats are back :)
Not sure what happened, though
Megalith was offline, but your sats have not disappeared!
If it would be offline for a longer period (or down), you can close the channel and sats will fall back to your onchain wallet ("savings balance")
