So, listening to this extraodenery episode of Jordan Peterson and Frans de Waal, I cannot help but want to throw the first snowball at the kids on the schoolyard this winter.
Kids are being oppressed in mildly violent games at school. Fighting is forbidden in our school. It is forbidden to throw snowballs. It is forbidden to grab and wrestle.
It is basically forbidden for boys to be boys.
So after listening to this episode, I want to be the one to bring back the environment for kids to play and learn the behavior of hirachi, making peace and reconciliation.
How will I do that? Good question! Any thoughts (since AskSN is dead, it seems)? Looking at you @grayruby, @south_korea_ln and @denlillaapan!
Let the kids play! Let them make war and peace afterwards.
We know this ourselves and it helped me learn a lot in live.
If social interations is the most valuable thing our public school system gives the kids (because lets face it its definitely not education and knowledge) why are we trying to destroy the last bit of public schooling that is good for kids?
To quote John 8:7: "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her."
Fortunately, it will be a snowball and not a stone, because I'm full of sins! But damn it, it will be a snowball, and hopefully a good hit!
