My daughter is two years old and she’s so smart. How smart? Smart enough to peel her own banana and throw the peel in the compost!
That is, until her brother was born and she got neglected and started acting out to get attention!
So I’ve got the baby in my arms, and I give her the banana, but after eating it she throws the peel on the ground right in front of me and goes and plays with her toys.
Not on my watch
I hand my son over to Mom because it’s time for me to do some parenting.
Obviously I asked my daughter Paige to pickup her banana peel and put it in the compost which she refused. But now my hands were free! So we walked over to the peel and I asked her again. She acted out again, but this time I was a stone wall like Easter Island.🗿
Despite all her pouts and screams, I was not moving! I didn’t have to hold her or anything. I just had to setup like a wall so she couldn’t continue with her morning until she picked up her peel and took it to the compost.
You don’t understand, daughter. Daddy has his super power… INFINITE PATIENCE!
For all the things I can’t control, I can control my temper! I’m not a toddler 🤣
Anyways she relented and picked it up and put it in the compost and gave me a high five and kept playing.
Idk if this is the right parenting technique or not, but I’m grateful for my wife’s help so I could enforce boundaries while my daughter tests them 💪
