Younger generations of women are less religious than their male counterparts in the United States, according to data from a Statista Consumer Insights survey. This marks a shift, as historically, U.S. women have been the more religious group. As this chart shows, for both genders, religion is becoming less widespread overall.
Christianity is the dominant religion in the U.S., by a long shot. Statista data shows that 51 percent of Gen Z males self-identify as Christian, with the next biggest religious groups Islam (six percent), Buddhism (two percent). Only six percent of Gen Z men are atheists and 17 percent non-religious. For Gen Z women, 48 percent said their religion is Christianity, while only two percent said Islam and two percent Buddhism. Six percent of Gen Z women are atheists and 22 percent identify as non-religious.
Religion, since time immemorial, has been about Control, Suppression and Submission. More folks are realizing this generation to generation but it is a very slow enlightenment. It may take us another century or more to shed our legacy superstitions.
Why so many anti-authoritarian types are so quick to fall into such traps remains a mystery.

"Religion is the opium of the masses" - Karl Marx.
today, a "new-age religion" is taking hold. it's difficult to include in the above statistics. it's seemingly disorganized, but make no mistake, there is a concerted effort to push it onto the masses. a classic description of someone who identifies with this ideology goes to yoga, mediates (sometimes for hours per week!), while wearing yoga pants (men too) and sipping on a smoothie, usually to destress from a pointless job and relationships.
the objective of this religion is to make people complacent with their current situation, and make them believe with all of their being that the situation will resolve itself with the "power of good thoughts" whether or not any willful action takes place.
all religions (even satanism) convey some proper teachings, however throwing a scoop of shit into a bowl of ice-cream does not make it a sundae.

Looking at society as a whole, I realize that both are much less religious than in the past. In the case of women, I think that adherence to feminist agendas is greater today, and I understand that this fact is the main result of the research result.
