Yesterday, I had to go to the next town to run some errands and I took advantage of the trip to take some street photos. I really enjoyed it because I got to see streets and people different from what I'm used to. In the end, it turned out better than I expected.
I'll start by showing you the photos I took of the town's basilica. It's big and imposing:
The people in this town are very devoted to the Virgin Mary and that's why I was able to capture this photo. Everyone who passed by did the same thing: they greeted her and said a prayer.
When I went inside the basilica, I found this scene: a man praying with great faith!
The inside of the basilica:
As I left the basilica, I came across a lady right in front who caught my attention because she looked so friendly and smiling. She was also selling all kinds of religious items. I went over to talk to her and ended up asking if I could take a couple of photos.
The very kind lady gave me a stamp of the Virgin Mary of the town:
Right in front of the church, there are two plazas. I walked around them looking for interesting subjects for my street photos. The first thing I saw was a man sweeping to keep the plaza clean.
I also saw a group of three ladies sitting and talking to each other.
Very close to the ladies was another man who looked very interesting with his hat. He looked like a typical famous town character. I approached him and asked if I could take some photos and he very kindly said yes
While I was talking to the man, I noticed that many people were walking by with bags full of food, vegetables, and fruits. I asked them if there was a market nearby and to my surprise, there was a market in the next square, just two blocks away. So I headed over there looking for interesting scenes to take street photos of!
The first photo I took was of these two gentlemen sitting in the square watching people pass by the market.
There was a man selling small plants.
And others selling fruits and vegetables.
I continued walking, getting deeper and deeper into this public market that was taking place right in the street, and I saw a man carrying his bag like this.
I saw a bridge that connected two streets and there were many people crossing it.
Along the entire bridge, there were people selling all kinds of second-hand things. I took this photo:
I must admit that I felt intimidated by the number of people there and the truth is that I was alone, so I didn't want to cross the bridge. So I went back to the part of the market where I was before and took this photo, already moving away from the bridge
This man with his rubber boots looked like a farmer. He had come to the market to sell his plants to get some money.
And after that, I went back to my car and when I got to where it was parked, I found this man sitting on the side of the plaza watching the world go by.
I'll say goodbye with this photo of my shadow. The sun was very strong that day!
I hope you enjoyed these street photos as much as I did!
