I am late to the party in using Nostr on a daily basis. The main reason is I find it hard to navigate and slow to use, as compared to Stacker News. I am looking for a Nostr client that displays notes more like Stacker News. I understand Nostr protocol is different then SN website.
Please give me your recommendation for a nostr client that fits best.
Features I am looking for in a client:
  • Ability to hide replies. I just want to see new notes for the npub I am following. Not what everyone replies. I can click into the thread if I care to see their response.
  • I don't need to see previews of a note (images or the body of the note) Just show me the title like SN main page. I am able to get more information on the screen at one time if it is only the title of the note.
  • Zaping sats and posting a note is the only feature I need. Don't need "likes"
Thank You in advance for any advice.

lol, I never realized there's an offline mode and it was enabled for me for some reason. I always wondered why nothing loads.
Not sure why it says I have no app relays though. Shouldn't it fetch that from my profile?
reply
I can't remember exactly why, I did that a while ago. But I think you have the option of using the relays proposed by nostrudel or using the ones in your profile.

oddbean might be something inline with your spec?
reply
hands down the best nostr non-client (runs off a server not entirely client side, so it works)

Am I understanding oddbean correctly, that you can not follow people?
One needs to fork the site and adjust which people to follow.
reply
Right, its a centralized page that uses an algo.. so to change the algo you'd run a custom instance

try out oddbean, prolly what you are looking for
