Didn’t know he was a shitcoiner. I noticed he was one of the first people to accept BTC in payment of goods. Doesn’t sound too bad.
I can understand the Mt.Gox problem, but did he loose in it, too, or was he scamming people?
Maybe very few people foresaw Mt. Gox going down like it did.

Roger ver is the biggest enemy of Bitcoin. Period.
But as an individual, he do not deserve to be in jail.
Anyways, I think all this "Roger arrest" is just another gov manipulation... they will make him disappeared, he already done his task against Bitcoin.
Roger was part of a larger operation against Bitcoin.
When people will really open their eyes and mind and see the big picture?
Govs will use all tactics and leverages against Bitcoin. Including of using these peons like Roger, Ross, Samourai etc. They were all tools used against Bitcoin.

It did look like a gov setup to me. Especially the take down of Mt. Gox. However, why is in in jail in Spain where McAfee was? Is it a black site for the US?

Good question. Yes the whole operation is fishy.
My suspicion is this (and you should read his whole history to understand what am I saying now)
- Roger Ver was "recruited" long time ago by gov agencies, when he was a "strong" advocate for Bitcoin. Yes, he's a real Bitcoin OG, no doubt about that. He had some troubles with US gov and he run in Japan. Somehow I think the blackmailed him and forced to join forces to undermine Bitcoin.
- So like that Roger Ver started the "block size war" and then forked into BCH. The whole campaign was to create confusion into the noobs so they cannot differentiate BCH from BTC. Proof - bitcoin dot com site (owned by Roger). A lot of attacks and campaigns (read the book "block size war") pre-fork with manipulation of fees and all kind of tactics.
- All this bullshit arrest because he didn't paid some bullshit taxes is just a cover up to make him disappeared. His role was finished now. They do not need him anymore.

OK, I understand completely, now! This was, more than likely, a state FUD operation.
The banksters and the state work hand-in-glove on a lot of operations. Either the banksters are covering the state or the state is covering the banksters. Sometimes you need a program to tell them apart.
So, he probably got hooked into this operation to FUD the bitcoin world because of his reputation, no? This goes to show you what reputation means in some cases. You have to keep your head on a swivel at all times.

there's a book called the blocksize wars that goes into the whole story quite well. lots of other things too, but yeah, funny to think that back in the day, Roger was called bitcoin jesus.
